Though you might not! I may be wrong! It does depend on the banks in question. It takes 3 days for my dad to send me money from Abbey to HSBC, though 4 Days from lloyds to HSBC.

It actually transfers pretty much instantly... but the bank uses it to make themselves money. Same with clearing cheques. Annoying, isn't it? Britain is stuck in the banking stoneages. We use the same transfer technology as other countries who do transfers (including between banks) and clear cheques usually within 24 hours. And yet somehow british banks take 3 working days or longer... hmmm...

Yeah, i know. Just speaking about transfers from one account to another - just giving a contrast to the numerous days it takes between other banks.

Exceedingly annoying. The sooner the FSA comes down harder on banks, the better.
