Attractive vs beautiful

What is the difference between someone being attractive and beautiful/pretty?

For example, is someone like Daniel Craig (new James bond) beautiful and Pierce Brosnan attractive?

or maybe Brad Pitt is beautiful and Ben Affleck attractive?

Can someone explain?

Attractive people just have something about them. They wouldn't particularly stand out on looks, but just exude that something irrestible :P

I think saying "attractive" is meaning they're ok but nothing really special, whereas "beautiful" is just wow.

A person can be beautiful without being sexually attractive & vice versa.

I know of beatiful people that aren't attractive and vice versa.

For instance; there's this bitch at work who's the worst person I've ever met. She's physically beautiful but I'm not attracted to her because of her personality.

I don't think one is better than the other, some people I see as beautiful in a classic way but I don't necessarily go wow, but then there are attractive people who do make me go wow but don't have that classic beautiful look.

I think attractive is more a general term, more objective. Like, yes they're good looking and anybody would probably agree but beautiful is more personal, and I think means so much more ..somebody who literally mesmerizes you in a deeper than just physically.

attractive - you can find personality and looks attractive, or certain things they do. Like someone above said, sexy.
i tend to place beauty with looks only - stunning drop dead gorgeous. i don't think anyone can have a 'beautiful inside'

Beautiful is natural and it can describe a mighty things. Attractive is obvious good looks in the way somebody comes across through the eyes of each individual.

I think beautiful people generally have very good proportions, whereas attractiveness is subjective.

So your definition doesn’t quite respond to the issue. The real issue is whether there exists a false dichotomy between “attractive” and “beautiful” or “handsome.” The answer depends on whom one asks.
