are mini cheddars crisps?

Me and my mum were having a mini dispute this morning about wether or not mini cheddars are classified under the category crisps  ! My mum says they are I think they are not crisps just purely cheesy biscuits! I just wondered what anyone else thought about this!

Your mother would appear to be correct. (According to the soul of the internet, wiki, anyway :P)
Cheddars are a brand of baked cheddar cheese-flavoured British-style savoury biscuit, made by McVitie's as an alternative to other snack foods such as fried potato crisps. They were originally manufactured and sold by Crawfords.

Yeah they're crisps I had this argument not too long ago with a mate, they're in with crisps in the supermarket.

Damn now you made me want some :frown:
Nahhh Mini Cheddars are mini versions of those big cheddar cheese biscuits aren't they. Therefore Mini Cheddars aren't crisps, they're small and delicious cheesy biscuit snackage

Yes, they are in the crisps aisle. But aren't crisps made of potatoes? Mini cheddars are little cheese biscuit bites.
Auuugh this is just like Jaffa Cakes all over again.
biscuits, and are exempt from VAT as such.

Id say theyre not crisps. Arent all crisps potato? (Cant say ive had a huge think into this...)
They're definitely savoury biscuits, they're probably put in the crisps aisle because they've got a similar purpose as crisps and the biscuits section will only have sweet biscuits.

I always argue with my brother, he dosn't understand that there cakes, and not buscuits.

Just before he goes bed my mum says "what biscuits do you want" and he says jaffa cakes, i correct him and he goes mental!

Ruddy toddlers, think they know everything!

Biscuits, but are more than often found in the crisp aisle, so I think this is tesco's fault.
