Is exeter full of sloanes?
I have heard this myth quite a lot about Exeter. i do come from a private school but i am not posh at all. is everyone quite posh at exeter or has this been exagerated?

Erm I've heard the phrase 'green welly brigade' mentioned,but I wouldn't let it put you off lol 
Haha, yeah...I was reading the Times and Virgin Uni Guides today and they said about the "green welly brigade" thing, but I've never had that impression myself!

There are, but they hang around in their own little groups, so they won't bother you.
i think you need wellys cos it is so rainy here (in a good way, the summers are bloody amazing, its like holiday camp after exmas!!!) but they dont have to be green, its really called green welly brigade by people who dont like the family close atmosphere here, and feel threatened by the intimatcy of it all, which personally i love as i dont have to groow up quite yet.
yeah there are sloanes but nice ones, the horrid ones dont seem to go out!! (think they are too cool for school) however, i have heard bristol and newcastle , durham and edinburgh are oh so much worse...

I hate to be so damn dumb but just what is a 'sloane'?
Exeter's become my first choice so I'd like it mostly to be free from hordes of pseudo-upper class folk, if that is what 'sloanes' are.

You will never get a university free of pseudo-upper class folk, and exeter does have its fair share of these. If you wish to stear clear of them, it is quite easy to do!

Thank you, I shall put on a brave face and run away.
However, everytime I've been to the university everyones' been really nice so I'm looking forward to going there and meeting even more awesome people, regardless of these chappies.

I'm doing Politics and I'm going to try and mix in as much Law as I'm allowed to just in case I can still go through the solicitor motions and become a well-paid rich person.
Do you know anything about the Politics tutors though, sadly I paid the most attention in Manson's guitar shop last time I was in Exeter?

I think it was in the same building as the law library
Near the great hall. Good location.lol you learn something new everyday! i walk through amory everyday, and i never realised there was more than law there!
