I can't be loved. [Confusing post]

This is totally stupid since I know this is not true, but I'm starting to realise that I believe that I can't have an close friendship with anybody. While it's easy for me to become good friends with other people, it seems impossible to take that to the next level, having an extremely close friendship.

People have expressed interest in me before, but I don't take it anywhere. Sometimes I even go through a stage of avoiding the other person, because I know that I won't be able to maintain the relationship(even friendship) and end up disappointing the other person.

Even though... I've got the strong desire to be loved.

Maybe you need to improve your self esteem as you don't feel worthy enough. Don't turn people away as they won't come back. Making friends is a gift - start living, not mourning.

I used to have an online friendship. Unfortunately I couldn't maintain that relationship and ended up disappointing the other person, by being a social failure.

Don't worry, this happened to me with a girl online she wanted to meet but I felt bad as my degree and work was tying me down at the time and I really needed to succeed in those. I don't think she liked it but I wasn't prepared to be friends with people and let them down or ruin my dreams just to go clubbing. Don't let anyone pressure you.
