On episode nine of season two when Cassie runs away to New York City and she meets up with that guy who gives her shelter and then leaves her, why does she cry after she reads his letter?
Because it's the most well written episode in the whole two years, and actually contains some emotional ambiguity. It's the one episode that moved me, really. Anyway, this is a decent explanation: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11819905&postcount=893:
Cassie is crying not over Adam but over what she realises. When she bites the apple it shows she accepts reality - Eden can't last forever and you have to face up to the bad stuff in the world. She is trying to face up to things in life for once and accept what she's running from. It works on another level too as it shows she's breaking the eating disorder cycle again.
Cassie's such a... human character.

I agree with you completely it was really heart wrenching but I didn't know she'd get so attached to someone after only 2 days,but still, shows how vulnerable she is.

I think it was more that she had to start living in the real world again: that despite all the temptation that this guy, Adam, seemed to offer... eventually she had to get back to living. There's no escape, just life. Death. Sid. Food.

He said something like "I've gone to take some snaps". Previously he said that the girl in all his pictures was "gone now" so a lot of people assume he killed himself to be with that girl.
