Independent newspaper has reported this morning that the school year is to be divided into 6 terms. Two councils, Berkshire and Kent are to pilot it from 2004 with rest of country to follow in 2005. Biggest change resulting from this is that A levels will be finished earlier and results will be known before uni applications thus ending the August scramble for alternative courses if students fail to achieve the grades of their offers.
