What is Leamington Spa like?

I'm from London; I wonder if I would find it tortuous..

**** load of chavs.

It's a pretty enough town, other than the areas that you're likely to live. Beyond that, it's a pretty standard suburban sprawl of dullness with an unusually high concentration of Indian restaurants.

south leam is a hole. people get attacked and cars get smashed in...
north leam is lovely
some nice shops but I have a friend from london who lives there and she found it a little shocking how few people there were etc

I haven't seen or personally heard of a single instance of this. I don't think the problem is particularly more pronounced than most cities, and it's certainly a lot better than London ^^

There were previously snooker tables in the union, but they've been awol since the Union rebuild started. I don't know if they'll return once it has finished.

If you're interested in playing Snooker, your best bet would be to join the Snooker Society who I would imagine have a good idea where the local facilities are :p:

One story in the Boar does not equate to a serious violence problem.

are you actually trying to defend south leaminton aka the bronx. IT'S HORRIBLE IN THERE. a sesspool of human filth washing down the turban clad streets with violence and fear everywhere would be THE MOST accurate description of south leam.

middle leam. in a very nice part.

Reply 15

Haha. This is quite funny, 'cause the reputation among the locals/reason we try to get out is that it's a quiet, boring incestuous little place where nothing interesting ever happens.

Reply 16

"Boring" sums it up pretty well

I live just outside leamington and I think its a lovely place. Sure it has its deprived areas but then pretty much everywhere does.

But it is a bit of a treck to Warwick Uni on the bus.

:shifty: Unlike in Cov?

South Leam may have some problems but I've never seen/heard any in North Leam (near Beauchamp Av.).

I should point out that in 18 months of living in South Leam I have never personally encountered what constitutes an actual problem, and neither has anyone I know. Yes it's ugly, yes it's quite chavtastic, but real incidents are quite isolated and there is a large student body to dilute it anyway.

There's a snooker club in Leam called Frames, it's above Pizza Hut. Is pretty average I suppose, does the job.
