What are the options on this.. AQA ICT mess up

Ok last year at GCSE we followed AQA double award ICT thingy.. the first 2 units went fine and then it came to Unit 3: ICT and Society, a 20 hour exam and it counted for 33.3% of the gcse.

It turns out it had a reading age of 19.5 or something, so the majority of people failed it and the highest mark in the country was a C, which I got, everyone else in my class got Es and Us! So at the end of it all I ended up with CC for that gcse, which was upsetting cos i'd put the work in and I should have been getting the top grades really.

I had tried to forget about it, but now i've been put in this pre-oxbridge group thing and people have better grades and stuff and it's starting to bug me again. I just feel angry that I put a lot of extra lessons and effort into this course and the exam board make a mistake and it all counts for nothing.

I'm asking is the only option I have here is to re-sit the GCSE? Or is there another way like re-marking my work to current standards.. or is it too late?

I know this is kinda late in the day but it's just come to the forefront again
Anyone?
To be honest, I doubt you'd be able to get a re-mark now as you did it so long ago, so I think your only option would be to resit the GCSE. Personally I wouldn't bother though as your GCSE grades are definitely good enough for Oxbridge and I really don't think they'll care about ICT. I know what you mean about it being frustrating though. I did AVCE ICT in Years 10-11, so most of my work had to be done outside of school, at weekends, during the holidays and during study leave. The thing that really annoyed me is that I could have got a lot more done, but my teacher was more interested in helping the dossers who didn't even care about their grades and she just left me sitting there not knowing what to do. Also, I got a U in one module because she forgot when the deadline was  I got a D in the end, 3 marks off a C, and I was really annoyed because it was so easy and I know I could have got an A if she'd given me more attention, but I knew I couldn't appeal or anything because it wasn't the examiner's fault. Still, I'll probably list on my UCAS form anyway (if I have to) and just hope they won't pay much attention to it, and I'd advise you to do the same. Resitting a GCSE could affect your A-level grades, and they're what really matters.
It's not too late to enter for a re-sit. They can enter you for June 2005 for GCSE ICT, and you need to submit the coursework again. According to your GCSE grades in your signature, they are excellent in my opinion. Universities will still like your GCSE grades.

If you really want to re-sit GCSE ICT, talk to the examinations officer. I'm not quite sure about the re-marking as they are one year ago already. In addition, the re-marks should be taken place last year.

Yeah it's probably way too late to remark the stuff really.. But when exactly is the deadline for re-sit this year trev, do you know?

The thing is it was in 3 units which are all done in school so that makes it more difficult, instead of having to turn up for individual exams, but saying that the work was relitively easy.. I've still got all the work for unit 3 too, could I just re-submit that again?

the specification is exactly the same this year as it was in 2004 as well:

I know where your coming from kellywood about this Jeopardising AS subjects but i'm fairly comfortable with them right now, if I wasn't I deffinately wouldn't risk them for some silly gcse anyway I just can't let these things drop sometimes :|.. Ha and I know what U mean about the teachers! mine were terrible I didn't have a clue what I was doing and they did always help out the dossers too haha

Thanks for your help so far :thrasher:

It's possible to re-submit the coursework again, but you have to ask the teacher to mark them with a mark scheme.

The resit date is May 23.

When I think about it, I don't think i'm going to bother, there's just no point. People got much lower grades in it than me and are getting on fine so I think i'm just going to move on and concentrate on the AS levels because they're what really matter anyway.

Thanks for your help anyway guys.
