Going out with a Chinese guy.

It seems like its fairly common for western guys to go out with chinese girls, but the other way around is less so. Apart from my boyf and I, i don't know of any other couples in that combination. has anyone else noticed this? Comments?

I also get the feeling Western girls dont like going out with foreign/ethnic minority people, maybe because they just want to stay in a same race relationship?

i dont think that shes saying theres a problem with it, just that its not as common as the other way around and shes wondering why.

perhaps it is the same and opposite in places like china? could be a reason why you dont see it every day.

i don´t think that there is a particular reason. 4 out of 6 chinese guys i know have 'western' (what a silly word) girlfriends. the other two are me and a friend who don´t have girlfriends :| (and i guess that´s because we´re both shy and weird)

Mmm, soem guys have a thing for chinese girls.
As for the lack of the other way round...perhaps some of the girls have read the old average?

I think you are being a bit unfair - i know of ALOT of asian guys who are of the opinion that a white girl is just for a shag, and that an indian (or pakistani girl - no mixing) is for settling down with to please the folks.

I think you are being a bit unfair - i know of ALOT of asian guys who are of the opinion that a white girl is just for a shag, and that an indian (or pakistani girl - no mixing) is for settling down with to please the folks.

erm.. i think that is a bit stereotypical, people that i know, i like because of their personality - i make friends with them frst. :P

I know it is a stereotype, but it often holds true.
My other asian stereotype is the view that asian lads basically can't look after themselves. They simply don't tidy up after themselves, don't do their washing or washing up, can barely cook etc etc.
You should see it in my residence on a friday - hundreds of asian lads with their weeks washing loaded intoa suitcase going home to get mum to do it (and then coming back laden with tupperware home cooked meals for the half the week - fast food for the other half)

well im doing fine myself; learnt how to cook, and tidy after myself., learnt how to use a washing machine. in my kitchen there is plenty of extravagant cooking, way better than the english. i do admit to bringing duck and other random foods back here, since the food is so expensive compared to at home :smile:

im south american and both my ex's have been chinese. because i look indian we got alot of racist horrible looks from people.
however because the indian and chinese cultures are similar, we got on ok. but i can see it would be a problem with white poeple

I cant say that i know of any chinese people I have met that I have found attractive but thats not to say that I never will I suppose.

I don't generally find any chinese guys attractive, and hence has not thought of dating any.

Ditto, I think, for no particular reason other than it's just not what I find attractive. These things are partly biologically programmed, so it's not because we're racist or whatever.

My sister has quite a thing for them though.
