I always thought that GNVQ intermediate is like vGCSEs (vocational GCSEs) until you told me now I was wrong about this.

My school don't offer GNVQ intermediate. Instead they offer vGCSEs and AVCEs.

It's quite bad that the entry requirements can be any 5 GCSEs A*-C in any subjects. It should be 5 GCSEs including english and maths actually.

It is basically like vGCSEs, except that it's worth 4 and you can do it at sixth form/college if you didn't get the grades for A-levels. My school offers them in business studies, health and social care, leisure and tourism and ICT, for Years 10-11 as well as sixth form. You can also do AVCEs in business studies and ICT. They say it has to include English and maths, but really they don't care, they just make you resit if you got Ds or do level 2 Key Skills if you got Es or below. I think it's bad that they count a GNVQ Intermediate as 4 GCSEs, meaning you could get in with only 1 proper GCSE.

Quite a few people in my English lit class got Ds in GCSE English lit, even though technically the school says you need a C. My school lets everyone into sixth form

That is good that your school lets everyone into sixth form. Obviously, I find it unfair that some students don't go onto sixth form because of their year 11 reports, predicted GCSE grades and behaviour in classes and stuff like that. By the way, it's a comprehensive school I go to, and therefore the head of sixth form shouldn't be choosing people who go or don't go to sixth form. I find it quite unfair. Anyway, lots of people from my bro's year is going onto sixth form.

Yeah, most schools say you need a grade C or above in english. Nonetheless, students must retake it during sixth form though.

Those courses are offered in my school too, and they don't care about the english and maths too. For AVCE ICT, you need maths and english a grade B for some reason. They raised the entry requirements.

This week i have been sitting my mock mocks and it was going really well until today. Firstly in english, we had to write a speech to the school governors about SOME contreversion issues. However I only write about one.
Thats me f****d

Then I had my graphics exam, and on the last page there was a question asking me to draw a net in 1 point perspective. However I didn't read the question properly and i eneded up drawing it in 2 point perspective. This question was worth 25 marks, and i messed it all up.

I am worried i'm gonna be moved down or something. :frown:

Mocks just let your teachers know how you are doing (and in some cases decide which tier entry to put you in) as far as I know, no Unis EVER ask for mock GCSE results.
