pain is merely a percept.

that probably isn't very comforting..sorry. :p: but presumably jabs will be worth it?

Reply 2

no seriously. it impossible for my arm to be comfortable...the feeling is perculiar; not striking, but sort of weak yet horribly consistent.

sorry darling

I am having the injections too. I had typhoid/hep A a week ago. Just feels dead for a bit but it'll pass.

better work on toning up my peri-aqueductal grey pain modulation systems then or perhaps my limbic system..

but seriously..i find pain interesting. & the cases where people either have Chronic Insensitivity to it - or Asymbolia, where they just lack the emotional component to nociceptive input. & nociceptive input is very real, i know..no doubt jamierwilliams' arm is sending plenty of those afferents.. but the actual "pain" is a pretty complex brain-mind thing, not that that is much comfort, as i said.. :p:

Err... that's nothing. I had my circumcision with ineffective anaesthetic. How do I remember the anaesthetic was ineffective? I was 11 when it happened. Now that was pain.

why in the name of god's underpants did you wait until 11?

Hehe, firstly, I had no choice in the matter, secondly, the anaesthetic should have worked. I was screaming in agony, and the stupid Mr. Circumcisor carried on regardless. Oh well, I guess, that's just life, eh?
