They are more like broadsheets. Spain as far as I'm aware, has no popular tabloids, if any at all.

They're half the size as British ones, but the layout doesn't really change much at all apart from that. Popular ones are mainly "ABC", "El Mundo" and "El País", but there are many more

As regards latin american newspapers (specially Argentinian and Brazilian, which I have read), they are pretty much the same compared to British newspapers. But one difference I could spot was that in headlines, British newspapers tend to use alliteration a lot, and we don't.

spanish newspapers from what little I've seen , are better than ours - more aware of global events, better reporting and less left/right bias.

There is a civil war raging in the Congo, which El Mundo did a superb article about a few weeks back.
All I've seen of it in the British media is a brief mention by the BBC before the US election.
They seem to model themselves on our papers in style, but the content is better balanced between domestic news and world news.
That said, I don't think Spanish television compares favourably with our wealth of options.

spanish newspapers are boring in comparison to our tabloids, they are way too heavy and dense. and really are the domain of the elderly male populace.
