I have a slow cooker. I'm after things that don't take much preparation so when I'm rushing in the morning I can bung it all in and it'll be ready when I come home from uni/work.

At the moment I have just chicken breast and some ready made stock in. Sounds boring but smells awesome.

Anybody have any ideas for simple stuff like this?

You don't tend to slow-cook something like chicken breast...slow-cook something on the bone, like a beef joint.

Yeah. I know chicken breast isn't one of the meats that really needs to be slow cooked, but I felt like it today. :p: I'll do things with cheaper cuts of beef like braising steak etc next time, as I can't really afford chicken any more. :p:

Shove in some chopped up beef (doesn't have to be good stuff), loads of veg (carrots are good, whatever you like really) and stock and whatever, cook, and serve with mash.

Comfort food to the extreme.

Stuff like stews and cassaroles come out lovely in slow cookers, particularly with cheap stewing steak:

This is lovely! I don't usually use all the stuff in the recipe (like the expensive stuff and sometimes not the wine), but it is really nice.

Also Thai Green Curry is lovely in a slow cooker . I am a bit of a slow cooker freak..
