I dont know a quote, but to start the essay I would mention these points and then expand on them throughout. As you dont really need a critic that much, it mainly has to be your evaluation.

    Shakespeares Presentation- language etc

Relationship- what do we mean by relationship?
what exactly is mother and son relationship ?
Is it within the context of the present or in shakespean times?
What do we expect to happen between them, what does and why ?

Should a person stay more loyal to their family or themselves, i.e. should Gertude have got married, was it for her ''sexual needs'' or for her son to have a ''father figure''.

    Hope it Helps
