Hockey ftw.......
:five:

used to play football, then went to a grammar, so rugby it had to be - great sport, played it with little ability until I was injured, and ended up playing hockey, which I love. No longer play football of rugby aside from cocking about with a ball now and then, but am a big united and tigers fan, and enjoy watching both.

Not as clear cut as you would think actuallly. I was quite suprised by that poll.

I can see the appeal in both, I absolutely loved watching our school rugby when I got the chance, and playing (wasn't interested in playing properly) to a certain degree. Just the throwing your body in there and feeling the effects the next day.
Football though wins because it's what I (and most of us) have grown up playing, supporting and following for whatever reasons.

Much prefer playing and watching football, and support Cardiff.
Don't mind watching rugby, but don't really follow a club team (though maybe Bath since I live here atm). But obviously I go nuts during the six nations lol.

For me it goessss....

Playing Rugby > Playing Football

Watching Rugby >>>>>>>>>>>> Watching Football

But I enjoy both. I do prefer rugby, but I really don't feel the need to choose between them.

Football ftw! - nothing's like a 40yards pass or a well placed free-kick. Rugby's got a bit too much violence :o:

Rugby, definitely.

Bit of a generalisation I know, but football players tend to be chavier.

There is no contest. Football is a gentleman's game played by hooligans and rugby is a hooligan's game played by gents

Come on the rugga, you can't beat a good try.

football has got to be the most overrated sport. if i wanted to watch a bunch of chavs run around kicking a ball I would go to the local council estate.

when a football match is boring its like watching paint dry and the number of football fans who are happy just to see the results and not the actual match says it all really. when you can condense 90 minutes of play into less than 3 min of excitement during the recap you know your sport is overrated.

rugby is so much more exciting to watch and play and I feel that the sport itself is hundreds of times more genuine.

I like Rugby League and Football. I was better at Rugby then football. Rugby League is a faster paced game then football and defo tougher. I hate Rugby Union its just kicking and maulding
