How come they won't let you go? Did you get through the filter interview?

I'm sure you will

If I don't get through when I go in Feb, I'll reapply next year for a bursary. If I don't get that, I'll apply for a cadetship, and if I'm turned down for that I'll apply again as a qualified doctor. In fact, I'll only stop applying if they tell me to go away and never darken their doors again.

It's worrying though isn't it?

Remember that assuming you don't fail professionally, once you're in, you're in

The poor guys applying to be pilots have a loooot of work to do once they're in before they're combat ready...!

I thought i did in the other post, anyhow, I think i passed it in so far as he's put my application to the OASC people, that means you passed it right? Basically he said that I have my hobbies and things that i've done in the past and my work experience in my favour and the fact i already have a good job with a reputable company. But against me are my A-level results and I got a 2:2 in my degree.

I really want to get a chance to show them that i'm much more than my a-level grades!

anyhow Wzz Engineers are far more important than pilots, we'll be doing away with you in 20-30 years

Professional training doesn't stop on becoming registered with GMC. You have the new two year foundation programme following registration, plus training in the area of specialism you want to go into i.e occupational health, aviation medicine, aeromedical evacuation etc.

Me too. At least your wait is substantially shorter than mine. I can't wait to join a UAS, they sound brilliant fun. :santaclau (this one's to spread a bit of xmas spirit!)
yeah three years, but only 2 weeks or so until UAS. It does look like excellent fun. What UAS you going for?

True, but I assumed that to get into avmed for example you'd slowly learn and train; unlike us you wouldn't get thrown into a six month course with a very fine line between pass and fail, with a fail meaning a loss of pay, loss of qualifications, and potentially the loss of your job.

In general, outside of the aircrew world courses in the RAF are quite "nice."

Yes, I do know, but after the previous comment about getting rid of pilots I'm not going to tell you
