I can't wait for my interveiw, i was meant to have it a month ago, but they lost one of those medical forms you fill in about eyesight, etc. I had a heart murmer as a baby, so i had to fill out a form for it, they lost the form at Cranwell. The corporol that works at the AFCO was off when my interveiw was booked, and whoever booked it hadnt looked through my forms properly. The day of my interveiw he picks up all my stuff n realises on of the forms hasn't been okayed, so they told me i couldn't do it when i turned up for it. I was gutted. I filled out another form while i was at AFCO that day, and its taken a month for that to go through. Ive had a month extra to swat up for it though, so i suppose i should take that as a blessing cos theres so much more stuff ive learned since them, just little bits n bobs, but cos ive learned it over n over it's kinda drummed into me, which has given me a lot more confidence than what i had last time. I'm glad ive finally got a date though after waiting that month.

Yeah, you don't get many applyin for supply officer do you? it makes it harder to look up info on the job n everythin, you get the leaflets from AFCO, but ive never talked to anyone in supply(except my grandad, he was in supply but that was a few years ago) to see what the jobs actually like, cos they do tend to make the jobs look really exciting and stuff when really its not all its cracked up to be, advertising and selling the job like.

Anyway i'll shut up now cos ive probably just talked a load of rubbish and bored you all stiff. Sorry if I have.

I'll offer you good luck and all the best for the interview.

I know what you mean about finding info about the trade though. If it wasnt for RAF marham and Benson's website's (and Juji!) i'd of been a bit stuck trying to find out about admin officer.
dont worry about what youve typed, i've waffled on here in the past
Are the questions shown on the FAQ thread similar to what they're going to ask at the AFCO interveiw or is that just for Cranwell. Are there many differences between the AFCO interveiw and the one you do at Cranwell? I've heard that the Cranwell one is harder, as it goes into more detail, other than that similar questions are asked in each. Is that right?

Hi Nikki, just rang my AFCO and they said they still hadn't made a decision at Cranwell as to who got the scholarships.

Hi all.
Just recieved letter to say that i have been selected to attend the June 5th OASC. Anyone else going at the time and anyone else applying for provost officer?
Hello.

Do I have to leave some time before my 23rd birthday before applying (for pilot)?

Regards, Ian.

Do us a favour Ian. Make a brew and spend an hour or so reading back through this thread. It's the least you could do.

Treat this minor misdemeanour akin to not washing your hands before dinner.

My AFCO interview didn't include any current affairs...
Just had my aptitude tests and scores high 80's in all 7 aspects, well chuffed. Shame that CIS O/M arent recriuting at the moment so could be a few months before my selection interview. Nevermind as long as i get in it doesnt matter how long it takes

Does anyone know how long the fighter control training lasts for...I know the initial Air Defence bit is 5 weeks, but what about the specialist Weapons/Identification sections?

high 80s in all seven areas? Last time I took it I remember you had an overall score of something like from 50-90 with each part being marked out of 8? Don't worry about waiting, its a common thing in the RAF!

Yes, they are similar to what you will get asked at AFCO as well as OASC. remember your filter interview at AFCO is just like a practise run for OASC. They want to see you will be able to handle an OASC interview and hopefully preform well! The Cranwell one is harder and will go into more depth until you say 'I don't know' then the topic will change.

I should know this, I went to Boulmer not that long ago and met all the instructors! I'll try and dig it up for you. What attracts you to FC? Have you been up to Boulmer? What stage of your application are you at?

sorry for all the questions, I have just never met anyone else who may have FC as one of their choices!!

Doesn't mean others won't. I have sat 4 RAF filter interviews in total and I was asked current affairs at every single one of them!!

I may, should be hearing from Cranwell soon. AFCO reckon my date will be in June, I'm thinking July.

Are you not thinking of the interview scores which are out of eight?

What are the aptitude tests for the trades like? Has anyone taken both?

No I'm not, I have taken the trades aptitude test and the RAF pilot aptitude test at OASC. The trades one is fairly basic. You can pick up a practise copy of it from an AFCO. If you're really interested I will scan it for you.

I'd be interested in seeing that, If you could scan it, that would be good
