Well basically everyone at Uni smokes weed, but if they're throwing up and creating a problem, it's a different matter.

Well by the sounds of it, they're most probably not going to listen even if you say anything to them, so best to report them for your own peace of mind

Massive overstatement in my opinion. I know plenty who don't haven't and won't aside from myself.

I would report them, you pay for your accommodation therefore it is your right to be able to live in it comfortably. Not only are they breaking the law, but they are ruining your living area, with no regard for how you feel. Do something about it. x

Just talk to them and tell them it's not the weed itself that annoys you, it's the constant sound and the smell. Ask them nicely with something like "mate, I know you just want to have a good time and I've got no problem with that but can you just keep the noise down and try and do it in your room or somewhere where it won't leave too much of a smell?".

If they persist, tell them that if they do it once more you'll just report them. If they do it again, then just report them.

The people telling you to report them are wrong. Fine say you did, what would happen? They would get a first and final warning perhaps or just a talking down to. You've still got to be living with them for at least the rest of the academic years - if they're smart they'll just tell everyone in the house that you grassed them up, making you both unpopular immediately and creating a lot of awkward moments. It's really not worth it.

My advice would be, that reporting them should really be a last resort - they may not realise how annoying it is to everyone else when they're stoned off their heads and if you explained why it annoyed you, it's likely that they will stop. However, if it does come to reporting them, make sure you explain it to your house mates first, like telling them you've asked them to stop a couple of times and it hasn't worked. That way when the smokers try and turn everyone against you, it won't work.

Don't report man. They'll kill you and your TSR rep and real live rep will plummet.

any first year that in bed before 3, is not doing uni right lol

Or perhaps the person as an 8.15 lecture in the morning, or maybe quite a lot of work to do, etc.

God, I can't believe how inconsiderate and childish people are. I don't mind people making a noise and enjoying themselves. I'm known to come in quite late and make too much noise. It's when people start making noise, being idiots, not listening when someone asks them to calm down a bit, is when I do mind.

OP, report them. You've had a word, and their just being total idiots about it. If something doesn't happen (them getting a word from security at the very least), they will never learn. Your paying x amount for the year for accommodation, you shouldn't be made to live with people who make your life hell.

Speak them about it first i reks, give them a chance to book their ideas up.
Then if it carries on, report them but only for disturbance/noise maybe? The drug thing may get them into a lot of **** and let's be honest most people go through the stage of trying it and **** so shouldn't be punished for that.

*Tears and Butterflies*
Basically, i live in a house of about 16 people and 3 of them have taken to smoking a LOT of weed, almost every night.

I wouldn't usually give a damn (Even though i hate drugs) but one person is a bad influence on the other two, one of which is really nice just easily lead.

But the problem is, they don't just smoke weed, they do it till 3am some nights, making lots if noise, (i live next to them and 2 or 3 other people have started coming round to join them. (Creating more noise)

This one guy (who might i add, is the instigator and a complete idiot) smokes so much that he has taken to throwing up everywhere...in the girls toilets. On the floor, which doen't get cleaned for three days somethimes. He just leaves it there.

I am fed up to be honest, and the whole area near my room smells of it too often for my liking now.

I understand that drug use in Halls of residence is taken seriously. Should I report them?

oh dear
i think thats quite pathetic really

Blaze up a spliff.

Reply 114

report them! You don't owe them anything... And don't feel guilty about doing so... You help them. You give them the chance to sorten out their future.

Reply 115

Their welfare isn't your responsibility, report them. They can deal with the consequences.

Don't grass.

Why not (assuming they carry on after you ask them to stop)? As far as I'm concerned they've grassed themselves up. No honour in sitting back letting a bunch of fools keeping you up all night.

Reply 117

ask them to stop.

be firm.

if it carryson then report

Reply 118

op report them, pretty much they will must likely get kicked out of uni, or halls for drug use
have a word with them when they are not doing, say look you have early starts a lot of work can they keep it down and smoke with a window open, if tey are not doing that, then think about reporting them

Reply 119

Speak to them about it first, explain why you are upset, if they ignore you then report it.
