I need to find the exact quote to use in an essay. After what I remeber it goes somewhat like this:

"I wanted to show you a landscape, not a picture of a landscape, but a picture of all the techniques one can use to paint a landscape. First then can you see the same landscape as I"

I need the exact quote and where it is taken from (It is by Nabokov, an in regards to Lolita I think). I've tried google, but cannot seem to find it. if anyone with a bit more experience than me in how to use the internet could help me I would truly appreciate it.

Thank you.
