getting droped

ok im not sure if this goes in here but ive been droped out of all of my options
art, textiles and i think business

if im droped out of business i'll only be doing the normal GCSE's including french and single science and business and communication (I.T)

so is this really bad and mean i cant get into a college?

Why have you been dropped out? You can still go into college as you have french, science, business & communication, english, and maths. Most colleges ask for 5 GCSEs grade C or above anyway.

Business, from my experience, is the biggest piece of piss trying to disguise itself as a qualification I've ever seen in the history of the planet's educational systems. I thought of dropping it at AS, but then thought: why lose a guaranteed A?

Keep it, get a C, then congratulate yourself for holding on.

Because he turns 17 in May therefore putting him in Year 12?

EDIT: I agree with him about Business. I did no work for the coursework so got a low B for it and in the exam, I totally messed up my timing - i ended up with about 2 minutes to do the last question which was a report worth roughly 20% of the marks of the entire paper and I still came out with an A overall!

erm....prob but im not sure
As long as you get 5 Cs, that's the minimum requirement for college/sixth form, so if you get dropped from business and communications, you'll need to get Cs in English, English lit (I assume you do that?), maths, science and French.

Bloody hell!  :frown:
Everyone seems to find it easy, I would say it's my best subject yet it's the one I'm least likely to get an A for. Show me the way!

If you don't want to get dropped, do the stuff. However, it's too late now. :frown:

Yeah i'm 16 doing As.. most people are unless they turned 17...

Sorry to be blunt but it sounds to me as if you just can't be assed doing any work and so it's no surprise the teachers for your option subjects have given you the boot.
If you want to get anywhere, make them re-consider, pull your socks up and do some bloody work!!

How could that be possible? I think studnets should be entering school at the right age, so young ones don't go into the unappropriate year.

You will generally need to have 5 C's for any college.
I know mine asked for at least a C in maths and english as well.
Although they offer retakes as well so some people who didn't quite pass maths and english retook them.
I do know one person at college that had only 4 C's, and didn't pass either english or maths but didn't have to retake. But thats an error in the college system and she has found it tricky to find a uni that doesn't specify 5 GCSE's

You really need to start working. I only got 8 GCSE's (1 was a short course so 7 I guess) Got into college with no problems. But I did go to school every day. Even if you don't do anything in the lesson (no work but also no chatting to friends/messing about) it's likely you will remember something as long as you listen.
