SO bored in gap year..

Hey,

I decided to take a gap year..mainly because i'm lazy and the thought of having a year out doing nothing sounded like heaven. All my mates (apart from those im going 'travelling' (on holiday) with in April and who live in a different county to me) are at uni, I've visited them all, some more than once, but it's quite expensive getting there and back.

I well don't wanna work, as I've got all my life to do that after uni...but what else is there to do?! Anyone else having this problem? I'm quickly becoming addicted to my xbox/pc but wanna be doing something else. I play football for my local under 21's team, so train a fair bit for that in the evenings...but during the day im incredibly bored. A girlfriend would be ideal but thats not really happening as all my girl mates are at uni and as im not at college can't meet anyone new! Afterall, I can hardly go clubbing on my lonesome!

Any ideas?!? (i beg you, i'm even finding myself watching loose women most days)

Work! I can't believe you took a gap year to sit around and do nothing.

Wouldn't you rather work for a few months, save up your cash and then blow it all on one huge holiday before you go to uni?
Its going to look really bad on uni applications and job interviews/cv if you say you took a gap year and you have nothing to show for it. You Need to get at least a part time job, just in the evenings or something. Also take up some voluntary work in a field you're interested in. You like sport so what about helping at a local sports club/youth club/training youngsters/football acadamies that sort of thing.
Think about what you want to do career wise in the future and do something related to that to help you get a foot in the door.
Get out there and do it. Dont waste your life away sitting infront of the tv, make an effort.
P.s if you do meet a girl, she would probably prefer you to be someone who goes out and does voluntary work and has a job, rather than some layabout who does nothing all day.

Agreed with the above, try and get a job! Even if you're job's boring, at least you're earning money for being bored which you can save up and use for uni/go travelling later in the year. Volunteering is also good: great experience for you CV, a chance to meet new people (and a girl)...

Well i've done my ucas now and have all my offers for uni so no trouble there surprisingly! Mainly because I put that I am going travelling this year...haha, which I will be doing in April-June but my parents are paying for it all, as well as for a lads holiday to napa in august...so no real incentive to work and get money as my parents just dish it out! But I didn't really plan what I would be doing in the mean time, which was a bit silly on my part.

But yeah might volunteer at a gym or summink...

Basically just get off my bum yeah? Gotcha.
Go do them things you never had time for. Sports etc and work on something. Job would be good too i'm sure the money would help with uni. But yeah mostly what people already said.
