The prospectus does not specify the hall as non-smoking so I assume there are smoking rooms but what i'm interested in is if I will have been allocated a non-smoking room (I applied to two non-smoking halls so I'm assuming they got the idea I wanted non-smoking?)

My hall sent me a form and asked me if I was a smoker on it. I can't imagine they will put you with smokers if you aren't.

That's interesting, I'm yet to send my response yet (I'll be posting it tomorrow). I'm guessing i'll be sent a form asking for more information once I respond?

Not too sure really, I presume it varies according to hall. I have stayed in Churchill though and can tell you that none of the room I went in stank of smoke if that's any help!

They don't segregate smokers off into a separate part of a hall, it's not like they've got plague or anything!

My sister used to smoke and her old house stank regardless of her not smoking in every room of it. I was moer meaning that they would probably try to put smokers consitently in the same rooms each year so as to avoid all the rooms becoming smoke-smelling. I hope they don't practise segregation though!

Yes I did and I was told I wouldn't receive my offer until monday and then about ten minutes later it popped into my inbox 0_o

Wish i'd applied to a student house now. I've just realised how many 445 people is. On the other hand I tend to get on with people so should be ok after a few days!

Goldney would have been nice - the grounds really are just that good if you haven't seen them yet!

Maybe I could make some official looking letters informing another goldney resident that we're swapping halls :biggrin:
Has anyone who got in through clearing found out their guaranteed halls?
I thought that if you got in through clearing the only halls available were HB? I'm pretty sure the rest are full with the firm choice applicants...

I think they do it for NHS sponsored audiology.

Audiology.
I got in for vet med on results day, and only cos I initially applied there and was put on the waiting list.
I was told to apply online for accomm. I put HB as my 1st preference as they said that's the most likely halls to have spaces. However, I haven't been told yet whether I'm definitely in HB.

If you don't like it you can be put on the list to transfer...my friend who's in the year above us told me his mate transferred to goldney last march..
