I was gonna put Manor but was put off by the single sex thing. I dont really know how it would effect your social life though.....

Btw can anybody with the Bristol accomodation info pack tell me what it says on the little white envelope? I lost mine! I'm in cheshire, where abouts in the north are you coming from?? Is the rah thing really bad in chruchill?? I keep getting the vibe that it is a bit antisocial compared to other halls- i really can't decide- wills or churchill----> can anyone help i am sooooo stuck x x x

If you are stuck - seriously go to Churchill. You're likely to get in there if you put it first choice whereas with Wills you have to be really, really lucky.

Also, I asked a Churchill student thing about the 'rah' thing and he said it's no more rar-ey than any other hall.

so they are going to supply special beds to people over 6ft3? How odd, I can't see that being the easiest thing to sort.

Nope, they might just have soom rooms with bigger beds in though and make sure tall people get those beds if possible.

With all due to respect to you and him, that's complete rubbish.

Yeah I got my accommodation pack today and found this unusual thing too. I am exactly 6ft3/190 cm so should I tick the box? I am just a bit worried it will eliminate my chances of going to Wills or HB. Maybe only shorties live there?

Haha wasn't going to be the first to say it but yeah, it is...

And I can't imagine they can exclude considering you from a hall because of your height, like I say it may be that some rooms have bigger beds in them or that (actually now I think about it this might be more likely) some of the older halls have rooms with low beams or ceilings or something.

Yeah exactly this was what I was thinking. Wills Hall is old and therefore might have lower ceilings. I guess I just wont put it down then I guess.

Btw is it true that Churchill has more "rahs" than Wills Hall and what is the main reason for so many rahs in Churchill? The good food?

It's not going to affect your social life, as said before you'll be allowed to bring the opposite sex home. You'll just be sharing bathroom facitilies and a kichen with people of the same sex.
I looked round Manor, theres stairs in the middle of the place, its not hard to go up or down.

The envelope says
Please enclose the following:
4 x Passport size photographs with your full name & course on each
2 x Self-addressed labels
4 x 1st class stamps or international reply coupons (where available)

Full name..........................
UCAS Number.....................

Please attach this envelope to your Accommodation Form.

Yes which means that Wills is more popular. Why not try for Wills? He might get in. I dont understand the logic of applying to a first choice that is less popular.

May as well, andy's guess is probably more accurate. Moist halls probably have a few rooms with bigger beds so I guess it can only be a good thing that they ask about it. Saying that, I'm about 6ft2ish and never had any problems with the beds in Goldney.

Do you think that single sex halls would be rubbish?

Personally, i would prefer mixed, but i like the look of manor hall....

What do you think? As in, sharing with 15 other boys...
