I think i might do that. Also, a question for those of you at Bristol now, did you mention your first choice in your PS? and did you get into it? and if you didn't, did you get into it?

I wouldn't mention a hall by name, but there are other ways of showing you would like to go to a certian place.
Nope, I didn't and yup I got into Durdham..
Tbf i've sent mine, nothing i can do to change it. I was just honest in my PS wrote about the sort of person i am, what i like doing and what i hope to acheive. Kind of regret not throwing a few subtle suck-ups to Goldney now but if they don't want me there because of my personality, then i can't really argue with it. It says they want mature-minded students in the description and i believe that my PS shows that, so im just hoping and praying they like it lol.
Wills is certainly my first choice. But for second, does anyone have any swaying points for either Badock or Hiatt Baker? Is it a big bonus that the shop is at Hiatt Baker?

I've said stuff about HB/Badock before so I won't bore people by repeating myself.

But there's little advantage to the shop being there...it's (at most) a 3-minute walk from Badock, so it's certainly not something that should make you choose one over the other.
the shop is gash

You're dead right. Absolutely everything is completely overpriced, but because the SB halls are in the middle of nowhere, there's no choice. Pain in the arse.
i took a risk and wrote about Goldney in my statement and it turned out fine

what she said.
My PS was completely 100% aimed at Wills - disgusting now I look back at it really :P

'Cause of the harp, though, I only had a choice between Badock and Wills as they were the only places that could fit one in the rooms. I'd emailed Donald before I applied, really trying to sell him the idea of having a harpist in hall, and when I got my accomodation acceptance through, there was a lovely little handwritten note on the bottom from Donald saying how much he was looking forward to hearing me play. Bless him
So basically sucking up is the way to go?
Absolutely. DON'T lie though, as you'll regret it - e.g don't falsely claim that you're a devout Christian who doesn't believe in sex before marriage unless you want to end up on a corridor of Bible Bashers...

Lol. I'll behave. I'm not particularly sporty or musical so I doubt I'll get in to Wills; I'm making all the social/community stuff I've done my angle though, as I figure that's the main thing I've done that would appeal. Any sense in that?
Quick question which I couldn't find on the website-is Wills Hall's JCR formed from the new intake or 2nd year students?
Mostly second year, there are a few 1st year positions though.

I was just wondering, if i applied for Goldney and ticked that i would prefer an en-suite room, would i not be considered for a Goldney room minus en-suite as well? What i'm asking is, if i tick en-suite will my chances of getting in be lowered seeing as there aren't as many en-suites?

i was just wondering if anyone found anything out about this...

Mostly 2nd year students. I know most of next year's JCR really well, 2 of them (Vice President and Chairman) are in my block and the President is on my course.

The only 1st year positions are ents rep i think.
Cheers for info. This statement is getting annoying now. I'm trying to avoid sounding dull without sounding like im one of those in-your-face zealous types. No chance I could just put I'm 'nice and normal' and be done with it?!

I ended up sounding like a crazy mix of the two. It was formally written but I put in the odd exclamation mark to brighten the tone you know :p:

oh well...as long as there's a roof over our heads
