Hi! was wondering if anyone could help me please, I have been trying to sort out accomodation since I got my offer and just can't decide!
I would really like to be catered (if the food is nice, if it's not I would rather just cook!), in a lively and social hall...? any suggestions?

The old building is where the common rooms/bar is on the bottom floor and the warden lives on the top floor (so obviously no access for students). The flats where the students live is in the modern bit.

That is what angers me..
I can't decide between living in a pretty old building, or living in a new building with pretty gardens :s-smilie:

I am also really scared I would get rejected from Goldney, and end up in a small accomadation. I am quite shy, I need there to be lots of people so I can make friends :frown:

The girl who showed me round manor told me something I should put on my personal statement which will make me more likely to get a place in Goldney though... so maybe it is worth the risk?

From what I gather...

either

Clifton Hill House if you want to be closer
or
Wills if you want to be surrounded by rahs - but it looks proper nice, kinda in the style of Oxbridge colleges.

It's not that Rah. Anyhow, if you were that opposed to Rahs you wouldn't choose Bristol!
that's not true; i came here with no knowledge of the 'rah' phenomenon, or of rah's in general, having never encountered any before in my life- bit of a shock to the system I can tell you.

i don't really understand this whole rah thing. are we talking the stereotype people have of like public school kids?
Slightly confused yet again, and, yet again, there's probaly a very simple and obvious answer to my confusion. What is the difference between Student Houses and the Halls? I think in most of them it seems to be size, but a couple of the Houses seem to hold around 100 people...
Oh, another question...

The tour guide said Goldney was en-suit, but I didn't think it was.

If it is... just another reason I should apply there (besides that I have seen pictures of cats there lol... awww so sweet)

Houses don't have bars and they're a lot closer to uni than stoke-bishop halls... Richmond Terrace has about 100+ students.... there are about 20ish flats of 5.

Hey, I thought Richmond Terrace was also in Clifton area???

Guys, can you please tell me whether Richmond Terrace and Woodland court are great halls: pros and cons, how far from Earth Sciences department and so on.

Goldney has both en-suites and normal rooms, although less en-suites than normal ones. But they're all pretty nice to be fair.

Ok... I've decided I'll choose Goldney. I probs have a good chance, I know the kinda things they are after.

Was also wondering, is the application online or by post? Because if its by post writing in pink or something might make me stand out :p:

Richmond Terrace is awesome! XD It's all shiny and new, all ensuite and generally great :P
It's just by the union, so it takes me about 5-10 mins to walk from there to the Wills mem. building.

Obviously not, but maybe a bit of colour/stickers/ribbon etc would be more eye catching... :s-smilie: Perhaps would not be professional enough though. The probs is I scrapbook so I like to customise everything lol! :p:

I'm just clutching at straws, I really want to go to Goldney now :frown:
