Ashburne Hall vs Sheavyn House

Which is better? I'm quite taken by the facilities and looks of Ashburne, and since they both share the same, I'm torn between the two.

I was originally looking for self-catered accommodation, as I get sick of institutional food quite quickly, but the kitchenettes in Ashbourne seem fairly well equipped for whipping up pasta or anything like that, and the rooms are MUCH bigger than Sheavyn. Plus I like the decor  However, it's not ensuite, and not all rooms even have washbasins.

Which should I put down first? Does anyone have personal experience of living in either? Did anyone apply for both, and if so, which did you get into?

Thanks

Dont hold your breath for either. My sister put her 3 choices down as all en-suite sel catering - sheavyn, richmond park and another. She ended up with owens park - catered, noisy no en suite. All that matters is that you end up with a decent flat - something you should be guaranteed if they are manchester students

Aren't they all high demand though?
go for sheavyn unless you really want to live in the fun all girls hall....
If i dont get Richmond Park, Cantubury Court or Western (en-suite), i wont be going to Manchester.

Is all-girls bad then? They didn't seem particuarly nasty or bitchy when I was shown round :frown:

you won't find out until after you get your results which accommodation you've been allocated

What i meant was if i didnt get anywhere decent. Its just iv seen how bad some accom. is such as Owens Park and i just wouldnt be able to live somewhere like that for a whole yr, although by no means do i currently live in a palace or anything.

Owen's isn't that bad... you get a bed, internet (coming soon), phone, and rooms which are definately bigger than the cupboards that some of the others have.

What more do you want? There's plenty of ppl in the world who don't even have a roof over their heads...

Yeh true although the whole place felt old but maybe it was because it was the first student accom. iv ever seen and they are generally like that (altho Notts accom was top).

Yes theres ppl who dont have a roof over their heads and im grateful that i have, however it still doesnt stop you bettering yourself and aiming higher, as people who live on the streets (or in LDC) would do the same if they had the opportunities. You dont turn down a well paid job, just because of the attitude that 'there's people who get paid alot less than you'...

No... but you don't turn down a job on the grounds that some ppl are paid more than you either.
