stoke bishop halls

hey everyone, i think im most likely off to bristol next year and ive decided that id prefer to be in the stoke bishop halls of residence, mainly for the social life. Was wondering if anyone knew if any ofthe S.B halls had en suite rooms? sorry if the question has been answered somewhere else on the forum, im hopeless at searching for things i actually need to find, i get distracted by other interesting but unrelated posts!
thankyou!

Have you got any special reason requiring you to have an en suite? If not, the chances are next to 0.

Durdham is mostly/entirely (?) en suite and it's self catered. Some Wills rooms are en suite and Wills is catered. Think that's it though...

Yes, sorry I was referring to the Catered Halls. As you're living in a flat in Durdham and UH (self catered halls), I'd very much expect there to be a bathroom between you

And Wills hall does have en-suite facilities available, but they're in the minority and the returners tend to nab a fair few!

nope, just fancied one really. Ah well, doesnt really matter, was only considering it cos ive been working for pretty much the whole of my year out and thought i might be able to afford one. not sure whether 2 consider applying to the clifton halls or not now, think il just stick to stoke bishop. Any advice on which stoke bishop hall? only one i have any opinion of is that i dont want 2 apply 2 wills

ooh, anyone know what durhdams like? was considering badock but theres no ensuites. anyone got an opinion of university hall?

Uni Hall is a bit dull and uninspiring. The bar's like a working men's club, and is often dead. Badock's great for the social life.

think il prob try for badock. One last question, anyone know anything about churchill?

If your reasons for not applying to Wills are anything to do with stereotypes of its social mix, you probably don't want to apply to Churchill either.

Yeah, i'm thinking of applying to Baddock... Not sure yet tho.

Just a quick question... i've heard conflicting reports about the honour of 'cheapest hall bar in Bristol Uni'. Some say Baddock has the cheapest bar ... others say Wills does. May seem like a frivolous question but ... it'd be nice to get the facts right.

lol OK, fair enough. So, in other words, both are dirt cheap.

Badock does  But yeah, the others are still cheap.

I deisagree. I don't know what working men's clubs are like where you are from, but compared to working men's clubs where I am from the UH bar is a quite posh.
Also, in Stoke Bishop the only en suites I know of are Durdham and there are some new flats in UH that are en suite (but you do pay for the privilege). I know Hiatt Baker does not, but I'm not sure about Baddock and Wills.

Fair enough. And Badock doesn't have any en-suite. Wills has quite a few in the new quad I think.
Don't discount Hiatt Baker! All the rooms have a sink so you don't have to rely entirely on the shared bathroom and despite being on the all girls floor, I've never known there to be a queue for the bathroom.

The social life is great here too. The food isn't really much worse than any of the other catered halls. Sometimes it's actually really nice - I wholeheartedly recommend the chicken korma!
