I am actually considering applying to Sheffield Hallam now, although I don't know what the applications process is as far as interviews and things like that. I know usually for Extra/Clearing you just ring them up and have a brief chat and they decide there and then whether to offer you a place or not (or at least that's how it worked with my friend for History).

you're not eligible for ucas extra though are you? I thought that was only for people who had obtained no offers at all? however, if you rejected your conditional offer you would eligible for clearing

I think lol!
Yeah the idea was that I'd talk to Hallam and if the could effectively guarantee me a place, then I'd reject my offer...cos I don't want to go rejecting something even though it is my last choice, and ending up with nothing!
Although I have to say after todays work experience, and the chat I had with the senior Physio who informed me that 3/4 of a physios patients are over the age of 65, and a good majority of those have cognitive problems...I'm seriously reconsidering Physio as a career as I do not want to work with the elderly mentally ill.

I work with the elderly and mentally ill......I thought it would be horrible, but actually its really good - abit repetitive, lots of walking frames and having to explain things alot....lots of work with NOF fractures lol but seriously......its very rewarding
could you try getting any work experience in some other area of physio?
How do you apply for universities through ucas extra for physiotherepy? Is it for people with no offers etc?
Thanks
as far as I know this is wot happens:
if you hold no offers once you have heard from everyone then you become eligible for UCAS extra - your UCAS track will tell you this when it happens. You then look on the course search and see what courses are available through track and you apply for them
I think you only get one choice - but I'm not totally sure - can anyone clarify this?

Kind of...you can only apply for one at a time...so if you apply to one place and they accept you, then that's it...but if they reject you then you can keep applying one by one until you get a place...I think.

oh I see!
Still strange that you can apply to places if you've been rejected from anywhere, but people who applied there intially still haven't heard anything!
