Yeh it does have an ensuite. Sorry, I misread yours as something along the lines of:

'No! Ensuite so have to pay ....' rather than 'No ensuite but have to pay..'

Sorry.

Lol without the ensuite, the room has better be good! Anyway, does anyone know where Z27 actually is? New count or the Todd building? Or are they the same thing?

Z27 is in Z block, or the Todd Building if you insist on giving it it's proper name, which no-one does. It's definitely not the same as new court.

your room is pretty decent, one of my friends lived in there last year. You'll be sharing a bathroom and kitchen with 4 other girls, probably all freshers. It overlooks Hobson street so i think it's occasionally noisy at night, but otherwise a nice room. you have a kind of window seat with some ugly but comfortable cushions on it.

I tried to get into staircase 2 once, but couldn't find the door...

Z is to the left of the car park as you come into it. Some of the Z rooms are pretty big, not sure what 27 is like though.

That sounds great Thx. I am really excited about all these new stuff happening, but then I am also really nervous- mainly because I haven't even looked at my reading list...

sorry, Z27 isn't one of the big ones (30, 31, 33, 35 are the big ones on that floor)

the good things about Z are its warmth and the gigantic windows.

Are those rooms nice though? I applied for middle band.

I've had a bit of a look. Bought one book and have another, but it's really just for interest and it's not mandatory.

Which subjects you doing? I decided on physics, compsci and evolution but think I might change one to chemistry.

They're ok. Not huge, but recently refurbished so clean/modern, and ensuite is a nice bonus. Plenty of desk space, if that's the sort of thing you like.

Well that's what I'm after really. A big room would just mean more tidying up and with regards to desk space, I need a lot.
I haven't been to the NatSci forum for ages coz i'll probably feel bad after reading how much others have read lol.
I am thinking to choose from Chemistry, physics, compsci and geology. geology sounds interesting but not sure if it is something I would like to study since I hate learning names and stuff. physics is the same but i have never been that good at it.... This is like choosing courses with UCAS all over again.

well, ok... 3:00 in this video is a new court room, every room on staircases 1, 2 and 3 is identical to or a mirror image of the one shown.

Don't worry about that, the reading lists for natsci are more introductory books, you won't be missing out if you haven't read them.

I'm perfectly capable of giving an unbiased review of geology. I'm feeling much more well-disposed to it now I'm actually finished with it.

Lol, that guy showed me round when I was there. For some reason that's class 4 when i'm in a class three which is more expensive as I am "on the same floor as the kitchen" :s-smilie:.

Looks nice though - I like the bay windows.

You might want to ask that in the geography subforum - or find a Facebook group for Geography freshers @ Cambridge. There should a helpful second year around around who can answer that question.

For instance: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=8323906788&ref=search&sid=704845527.598798957..1

Send a polite FB mail to anybody in the group, and they'll either give you the info or direct you to somebody who can.

Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot, I'll do that!
Just wondering, would a bicycle be useful at Christ's? I mean it's in the centre of town. Do a lot of people at Christ's own one? I will be doing Natural Science.
Thanks.
A lot of people at Christ's have bikes. I didn't. It just depends where your lectures/supervisions/practicals are going to be, but even if they're reasonably "far away", in Cambridge that usually means less than a 15-minute walk. You can easily do without one.

don't buy a bike before you come - get here, work out whether you want one, and then it's easy to find a cheap one to buy in cambridge.
Just wondering, has anyone recieved their Fresher's Pack yet? On the Christ's JCR it says they should arrive by post in early September, but I've had nothing since the welcome letter from my tutor.

Nope. Still waiting for a letter from my college parents too.
