I need lots of info on independant measures design what is it 4 a start? what are the advantages and dissadvatages of using this design? help ASAP please!

In my stats terminology an Independent Measures design (between-participants) this is where you have two or more separate groups of people that you are testing on some particular variable. Disadvantages are that you need more participants than if you were doing it as a related (within-participants) design and that your groups may already differ in their performance purely by chance - to get rid of this problem you have to ensure that you randomly allocate participants to groups. The advantage is that you don't have to worry about practice effects.
