There is a gym on campus, i've not used it though. There's also Fitness First in Newcastle. Here's the website of the campus gym: http://www.keelefm.co.uk/leisure.php?secID=7 It has prices and information there.
I went to keele gym last year and am considering re-joining for my last few months of this year. Its ok, especially if you haven't been to many big gyms before. For me it had all the stuff I needed. But I only really use resistance weights machines and cardio. Some people don't like the atmosphere in the bigger gyms, and thus prefer keele gym. Word of warning though; towards the end of last year a fair bit of equiptment was out of order and just did not get fixed. But for the price and location; I'd recommend it!
I only ever went to a school gym before I came to Keele, and it seems to have everything I need, including some 'Kinesis' machines which seem to have stuff for most muscles.
Also, I can confirm, that at least in Jan most of the machines were working
Keele gym is appauling. its cheap but for a reason. i go to total fitness, its wayyyyy better but you will need a car to get there.
The one in trent vale? Some people I know go there. And you don't need a car. You can just get the 25 from campus to newcastle, then then 101 if you can afford both bus routes. But if you're not talking about the one i'm thinking of then i'll stick with you and say you need a car because I can't think of any other.

I used to cycle past that place semi regularly from campus. Just extend your workout and cycle there and back.
