Asking on behalf of my cousin who applied to oxford and was rejected narrowly: literally by 1-2 places according to the feedback. However they have yet to give a reason to why she was rejected as her 'interviewers' comments on the summary sheet were positive and her scores were high'. so no reason given. Ive suggested for her to ask to see a copy of all documents under her name for feedback BUT If she decides to apply in the future (4 years down the line) do you think the oxford would be annoyed/soured by all this and reject her again?
4 years is along time, chances are they would have forgotten, you have to remember they see ALOT of applications. their not just going to display a flashing warningsign whenever they see your name on their database.. or atleast i doubt it!

I'm 5 weeks in after requesting feedback, and I'm still waiting...I've received four emails saying that they will 'pass my request on to the correct department', but I'm kind of doubting now whether I'll ever hear anything!
they won't have it. they will have destroyed the sheets by the time they made an offer. oxford is very careful to do things like this; eg, they shred our exam papers so that we can't request them under the data protection act.
I have received no feedback yet, and hearing how Swayum has been treated has rather put me off trying to get any information. I guess I could try my second college, to see if they've got anything useful to say.
thanks can u only apply if u go to cambs/ox or london medschools?
What do you think "Oxford considers applications only from HEFC quota pre-clinical students from the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge and London (ie students who have been admitted to pre-clinical courses in these three universities)" means?

Thank you for that. Very politely written as well. I had read elsewhere that Oxford accepts from any other UK medical school
The Clinical School will admit and consider applications only from HEFCE quota pre-clinical students (i.e. students who have been admitted against a nationally set medical student quota at a UK University). The admissions procedure is competitive and the applications are welcome from those students who have completed their pre-clinical studies at any UK medical school.
And i also know of a student who transferred from Nottingham to Cambridge and wondered if there was a similar system in place for Oxford.
Also, why would Oxford want to confine their applicants to London/Cambridge/Oxford and not interview a select few for places on their clinical course?
Oxford doesn't take transfers at all, and very rarely do they take anyone on to Clinical from outside Oxbridge / London. I'd email them to ask (contact is [email protected] AFAIK).
But it would be worth investigating on a friendly online forum wouldnt it?
If Oxford says it doesn't consider other applicants, the only place to consider asking the question "Are you sure?" is Oxford itself. Anywhere else is conmpletely lacking in authority.
The clinical system is such that every student who passes Oxford pre-clinical will be able to find a spot for clinical elsewhere in the system. I would imagine that, in all honesty, Oxford clinical school doesn't have to look outside Ox/Cam/London to fill its places; if you quote other sources which back up your question re taking people from outside these universities, it'd be useful to say what they are.

^^ this. I and other posters are as friendly as we feel like being but you'll only get the definitive answer you're looking for if you email the oracle ...

I have already emailed the Clinical school a on Monday via the contact form on the website and had yet to hear a reply. My eagerness and impatience led to me to ask the question on a forum so that at least i could hear perhaps anecdotal evidence of people who have indeed transferred to Oxford. Excuse my ignorance, but i would have thought that that is what these type of forums are designed for: many people ask questions which are easily found on the internet, but you can learn much more about the question when you the student directly, I have found, without receiving an earful of animosity.
