Can you take further maths? Not taking pphysics and further maths may cause ou problems as my chemiistry interview att LMH consisted of alot of physics (as did other interviews not conducted in LMH).
The course is really mathematical and phsyical as well and people who have taken further amths have completely failed the maths for chemistry courses which you d need to pass.
Good luck.
Thanks.... I'd considered picking up further maths; my maths teacher also suggested it. So now I think its a done deal (if it fits my timetable of course!)
By the way I'm now thinking St John's college. Any opinions?

John's works its chemists scarily hard. I'd pick somewhere with more laid back tutors (i.e. any other college in the known universe).
In all seriousness, those who are sure which college they want to apply to, how did you come to the decision?
Make a list of criteria and cross off all those that don't meet the criteria, becoming increasing picky as there are fewer colleges left. If you don't have many criteria, just make a decision on gut feeling.

Ok,thanks : )
To be honest, I'd be happy if I ended up at any of them!
If I were you id pick randomly infront of an open application. Surely there must be some like more than others
I'll be honest, at this stage due to the large amount of them I haven't really looked into them at all. But now I'm sure I want to apply to Oxford I'm going through and giving consideration to them all.
In terms of the academic side of things, is there anything in particular I should look out for, especially with regards to a chemistry degree. i.e. Should the amount of academic lecturers in chemistry at the college sway my decision in any way, or should it not hold much bearing?
Sorry for being an utter noob at this, the Oxford college system is quite a new thing to consider to me lol - I'm gonna do some reading on it now I think : )

Thats alright, youve got still a few weeks and should only take a couple of hours of thought. I wouldnt take account of the amount of lecturers at all. For chemistry 1 lecturer teaching each of the 3 branches is perfectly sufficent as long as they are good.
