Indeed! I do hope you find it possible to excuse my stark abrasive manners.
Watson, I revere them, and only hope that you can come to terms with my chauvinistic way of refering to women, it's a problem thats plagued me my whole life, and originates from the period my mother was a prostitute, and I was taught the facts of life by the brothel owner, "Big Shirley." And do address me as Holmes, Watson, I shan't tell you again, it was you who asked to be brought on my expeditions, and if you wish to remain on board this particular vessel (really homo-erotic undertones in the vocabulary here if you look) you'd do best to address me in the manner I have requested. Carry on.
Care to elaborate on why you think you're Oxford material?
I think it quite erroneous to assume that I hold no understanding of what a scientific paper is. Lo, you should really be reviewing your own incapability of putting across your wording in a more comprehensible manner.
I very well know what a Scientific paper is, having written one myself.

Holmes, I find that the indigenous population of this land seem to have transformed the landscape into a social and cultural cesspit with Marxism quite prevalent!

I would also like to remind you that in no way did I even imply that my intentions were to treat it as a rigorously peer reviewed and proof read scientific paper, I simply find the New Scientist as being an enjoyable read which on the whole is more often credible that not.

I find the way you insult others to be utterly breathtaking Watson, and although I cannot and furthermore will not find fault with your argument, I emplore you to find it in that magnificent heart of yours to perhaps have mercy on the savages we have and will henceforth encounter, they have neither your intellect, nor your sense of morality. Cultural relativism must be studied here Watson, as well as the employment of facade, it would be foolish to reveal our true intentions at this stage. Soothe your anger with the notion that one day, all that you survey will be ours, to rule as we please. Tally ho!

You pull at the very strings of my heart, I find splendour in your vision as I feel a close connection with the once great (and flamboyant homosexual) Cecil Rhodes.
In fact I shall gracefully enclose an image of his likeness below;

I find it most peculiar that you would show me such a picture. Watson... do you see me as more than a mere mentor, tutor, travelling companion and platonic equal?

I merely wish for all free men to share in this potential fortune, through our mutual relationship I believe we can strive to achieve this endeavour.

Thats quite alright then, I do believe we should call this new place, Great Britain, for none could surely doubt that it is great. Watson, I apologise for mistaking your passion for freedom for passion for my masculine features, I have failed you as a partner in endeavours, and if you could find it in your heart to forgive an old fool, I'll ensure that such an atrocity is never again perpetrated.

Very well then, I shall let bygones be bygones.
On the note of naming it, I had thought that naming it after my favourite pastime Tiddlywinks. Though Great Britain has quite an especially beautiful sound to it.
I'm afraid I am weary and am in dire need of retiring, I shall speak to you soon my good man.
I laughed so hard at the language in this thread, thanks guys. Seriously.
OP - Yes, I'd apply if it really is a subject you are passionate about. You have a lot of time to decide and if it's something you genuinely enjoy, that is a good sign.
LOLOLOLOL. Best thread I've ever read! It's fairly obviously rehersed, but I'm going to fool myself into believing it isn't, just so that I can live with the knowledge that people like you really exist
Ok, Thanks for the answers again. So,you think that reading (and of course understanding) Clugston "Advanced Chemistry" and "How chemical reactions happen" is enough to prepare? Even if I'm asking for deferred entry? (since they take just the best students)
