Does every applicant for Chemistry get interviewed at 2 different colleges?

My experience of interviews was that most people were. The very strongest and weakest weren't and of those reinterviewed a number got offers, both at their first choice college and elsewhere.

Maybe, but not necessarily... when I applied (back in '-05!) the eight of us that got sent home from Balliol chemistry interviews after just one interview were the eight that turned up the next October. However, in more recent years, the process hasn't run quite like that...
any tips for the interviews guys?

Any idea about Univ ?

Last year I only had two interviews. One for organic and one for inorganic/physical. I don't know if it will be the same format this year, though.

Not at Univ. Most of the people in my year doing chemistry didn't have any interviews at other colleges.

Oh. Okay. Thanks

Any idea if there will be WiFi available ?

Year before, originally applied to Univ, got reallocated to Corpus, and got in, and at least one other dude got in from the re-interviewed cohort. Everyone of the Univ chemists (I think), originally applied there, as I think they were all the people who didn't get a second interview.
Got an offer!!!!! Just wondering, the email I was sent says that I have been accepted for "...Chemistry, a 3 year course, ..."

Is this simply a typo, and should I wait until I receive the letter before contacting the college?

:yy: Well done.

There isn't a three-year course; I guess it's a typo.

Sorry I didn't reply to this, I didn't go on TSR again until you'd already had your interviews. Hope they went well and if you haven't heard from Univ yet, good luck
Just wondering, how are tutorials done for chemistry? Do we have like one in each discipline a week, or just one tutorial a week. Or does it differ from college to college?
I've just finished my first term at Univ

It differs from college to college - some colleges have one chemistry tutorial each week and others have two or three a week. At Univ, I have three chemistry tutorials every fortnight plus one maths tutorial each week. I don't know any New chemists but there is one on here who may be able to help

Isabobble is in her second year at New; maybe it would be worth PMing her.

Hello! I just got an offer (YAY) for Chemistry - obviously - at Hertford. I was wondering if anyone knows what the tutors are like? Thanks (:

not sure whether to be jealous or not of those with only one tutorial a week

in first year i had 3 chem and 1 maths tutorial a week - obviously getting the most teaching for my money but it makes for pretty hectic and busy weeks getting all the work done...

I've heard rumours of some colleges having even fewer last term! Still, at least it gives them a chance to get ahead in labs -- I'll be in there three days a week next term if I want to keep Trinity relatively free. :s-smilie:

Also, I've been meaning to ask -- does Russell tute better than she lectures?
