Origin and Meaning of your FIRST NAME and SURNAME !!!

Guess a person’s name in itself can be one of the reasons that grab one’s attention towards them & the name in itself plays quite a role in judging the content of their character, up to some extent.

I often take a rather keen interest in the origin of one’s first name along with the meaning hidden behind that name itself. Same can be said about one’s surname, as well.

Name

One of my favourite name Hayley, which is of English origin means from the hay meadow, quite an interesting concept behind the name, I would say. Similarly, another one that I often find quite intrigue is the name Bella, which is of French origin means beautiful, again an amazing concept. Recently, the movie Bridget Jones’ Diary made me do some research on this beautiful name of Bridget & came across with its origin being Greek along with having a lovely meaning strength or saint.

Surname

As far as surnames are concerned, UK's & USA's number 1 surname Smith derived from the Anglo-Saxon smitan i.e. to smite or strike. It's an occupational name for coppersmith, goldsmith, blacksmith, etc. Our 2nd popular surname would be Jones i.e. Son of John/Joan but can also be attributed to the name Jonah a name of Icelandic origins suggesting a Viking connection. Finally, our 3rd most pupular surname would be Williams has a Norman origin.

Wonder what exactly are the origin and indeed the meaning of the FIRST NAME & SURNAME of members in TSR ???

In my case, my not-so popular name (I rather not mention though, as I’m called by my nickname instead) has its Sanskrit origin, rather ancient language associated with Hinduism. Regardless of its unpopularity, I find its meaning rather fascinating i.e. to attract someone’s attention (wonder though when would I prove so on a member of opposite sex)

Kate - from Katharine (though I was actually christened Kate, not Katharine) which is from Greek I think. It means 'pure'

Willson - 'Son of William'

Your name comes in the top 5 list of my favourite names, I must say

I personally fancy the name Katharine, simply cos of sounding rather sophisticated & posh, however, with due respect  Kate sounds to me more like a name of a "girl" who's YET to enter her "puberty" (nothing to do with you of course, but merely the name "Kate" itself, so no hard-feelings, I hope

Why do YOU feel the need to put random words in bold and CAPITALS and put way too many EXCLAMATION MARKS at the end of the titles? !!!

My first name means 'universal'. I have no idea what my surname means - it's a bit unusual, and there doesn't seem to be an easy method of finding out.
