I am doing physics coursework on finding the refractive index of a material, and commenting on its effectiveness in the use of manufaturing a step index optical fibre, using another material of refrac.index 1.39. using light of wavelength 589nm (between orange and yellow light). I should do appropriate experiments and calculations and using snells law, to calculate a final refractive index value for material b, that takes into account of using yellow and orange light......thing is...in my planning section, it says.....
8.) a.) "justification of design based on supporting theory e.g.) formula or calcualtions"..please help, what does this mean exactly and what do i say for this bit!!!! help!!!!!!!!!
