How do you motivate yourself to start revising and that makes you want to get on with it? Also, what are some effective rewards?

I'm hopless at self motivation and my parents think bribes are bad for me  normally I just have to get out my books, turn off the computer, lock up my DVD player and CDs (I get distracted VEEERy easily) and force myself to just revise.
I reward my self with chocolate, seeing my friends etc.
And hoping to get the grades I want, because if I don't revise, I wont pass. :p:

Well, I do work hard once I start, and I do try and revise for at least 2 hours every day, it is just getting started!

Make a to-do list of 30-minute revision topics, preferably with different subjects eg
French - irregular verbs
History - Causes of World War II
Maths - 30 minutes practice on tesselations...
REWARD!.....
After the first 3, write in the reward you could have eg 30 mins music, a big bar of chocolate etc.
Then do the same for the next 3 and then the next 3.

Once you have done that go for 4 x 30 minute revision sessions with a slightly better reward eg watching TV for an hour, chatting on msn etc.
Do this 4 times, then go on to do 5 x 30 minute sessions etc.
You may choose to do these sessions over 1 evening or 2, but no reward until you have ticked them off.

Oooh, that sounds really good. Although I am not going to be doing more than 2 subjects per day. I will have to make myself get up, and be revising by 10 or something. I especially like the idea of chocolate!!!

Think of the consuquenes if you don't revise. This will scare you and will motivate you to study. :p:

Some rewards would be some rest and some sweets? Rewards can be anything you like.

Well, I will revise, I can't put it off, as I am so scared of failure. It is just starting!

Since you're scared of failing, it should motivate you to study. :p:

I do study, it isn't that I don't...but I think sometimes I do too much, and it is worse when I am revising subjects like History and Sociology rather than Maths and Physics as I really need to work on the latter.

It's good to revise a lot, but the downside is that you get stress and stuff like that.

I guess you could start revising for maths and physics the most, and leave the others later on if you want.

I try to do 2 subjects per day, and do until I am fed up of them. I generally tend to concentrate more with the harder subjects as I have so much to perfect!

Don't do them until you fed up, just continue you studying until the day of that subject exam. I tried to study the stuff until I fed up and when it's near the exam, you tend to forget a little bit of stuff.

I think my Maths exam is on the 7th June and the first Science paper is one of the earlier exams, I need to badger people for past papers!!

lol! Ask for some past papers then. Teachers should start revising with you guys along with some past papers. If they havn't gave you some past papers, you could ask for them or buy them yourself.

To prioritise your exam to study, study the exams that will come 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc... Click on my link in my sig to do that.
