Grrr I'm so pissed off!!!
I have an interview at Manchester uni on the 20th (well an open day type thing mainly...). Trying to find decent priced rail tickets. What a hassle! I've got bloody broadband so what's the damn problem?!?!
It would seem that the cheapest tickets (and then a few more expensive ones) are for arrival at Manchester at about half 10. But I need to be there for 12! What the hell am I going to do until then for 2 hours in the cold!?!? And for that one I have to get to London Euston by 7am. What a headf*ck. If anyone could suggest what I could do for two hours before heading off to the uni then I will stop complaining and get the tickets. Please help!!!

Have a look round on your own
Explore the union
Get food
Have you tried looking at travelling by coach to see if that is any better for you?

Pity, coz the coach is much cheaper and the trains from london --> manchester are awful.

Where can I look for that? I didn't consider flying at first because it would be a hassle getting to an airport.

Bah never mind, I'll just buy the train tickets and give my dad a heart attack. Might visit Old Trafford while I'm there!

I am going to Manchester on the 20th too. I got a train ticket from Bristol to Manchester for £22 (I bought 2 singles which was about £10 cheaper than a return!). Don't go on the coach, it will take ages and will be really uncomfortable; on the train you can get a table seat and stretch your legs!
Like you, i was well pissed when I found I had to go there for interview. I will have to wake up at some god awful hour, spend the whole day on a bloody train and miss a whole day of lessons at school plus my evening maths class. Furthermore, they are just gunna ask questions like 'why do you like maths?', 'why do you want to come to Manchester?', to which everyone will give a largely similar answer. Also, in all honesty, Manchester is fourth on my list of universities I want to go to.
What course are you going for?
