Ouch...
I heard Imperial will have the highest entry requirements from next year... An entrance exam and they will be including the new A*... Quite a few people got AAAA offers this year...
Reply 3
Surely you would rather a high offer than no offer at all?

OP stop bitching. My friend's offer is 39, with 776 at HL - 7 in Maths and Physics.
I got an high offer too. 96/100.
It's probably because of my high predicted grades.
My teacher put 100/100 because Cambridge considers applicants with those predicted grades. (although in the end they gave me a 95/100 offer)
Asking to non-uk students - and italians in particular - for their predicted grades is pretty pointless because:
a) We don't get predicted grades.
b) Our final exams are much like a lottery.

They should rely more on end-of-year results and other stuff.

Isn't it fair enough if you've been predicted to get that high/higher? I mean sure, it's unfair in the sense that it's a harder offer than A-Levels, but if you think it's too hard to achieve, you should ask your prediction to be lowered, shouldn't you?

Well such high IB offers would be justified if people with predicted AAAAAAA at A-level would also be asked to achieve AAAAAA.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, by asking for more points, they're not making you do more subjects are they? They just want a higher standard, which is different to wanting people to do more subjects. I would have no objection to A-Level students being asked, say, 88% in a certain subject, if predicted 90% (obviously things don't work this way, but just hypothetically).

Tbh LSE and ICL are competitive unis. Ppl don't seem to realise that :s-smilie: Especially for courses that don't have interviews, high offers are needed to ween ppl out! If A-levelers could have higher reqs, they'd get them. If you want, you could say that it's not the IB reqs that are the problem, but A-level grade inflation that is.

Get over it. Instead of wasting time posting about an OFFER you got, make more use of it and actually study to make sure that you don't miss out on it. Jeeze.

Well from 2010, Computer Science offers at ICL will include the A* and applicants will have to sit an entrance exam...
