Is it safe and legal? And it okay for girls??

My friend's going to take it and I am quite worried.. all the reviews on the internet are by men and from the sound of things it can be like being on drugs

normally used by athletes

i'm surprised she's not using eca (ephedrine caffeine aspirin stacked together)...
- It's a product that should be used with caution. Up until a few years ago, it was readily available in a lot of fat loss pills.

That it can be synthesised with a few other house hold items to make meta-amphetamines has led to its ban.

- No problems with use by females.

- Illegal.

- Like being on drugs? Of course it is: it has a similar structure to an amphetamine. Effects are much moderate; some have likened it to being on 'weak speed', though having never tried speed, I can't comment.

Pulse will quicken, you'll perspirate more and so be more thirsty, and you eyes will dilate. Those are some of the more immediate effects I can think of.

NOT at all necessary to weight loss. It's effect on metabolism will be tiny- at max around 3%. For perspective, in a normal day (2000cals), that would equate to an extra 60 cals burned. To lose a lb of fat, you'll need burn around 3500 cals.

Have you noticed any weight loss/improvement in your body?

Anyways, yes she is taking it in conjunction with some caffeine tablets but they are both seperate, don't know whether this is normal. I don't think she's going to listen to anything I say in regards to not taking it but she did try some other diet pills one time but only took them for a few days before she scared herself and became convinced she was going to have a heart attack, so these might be the same. I've looked at everything that has been said on the internet I just wanted to see if anyone had any first hand experience. I'm actually sort of considering taking them myself if they work for her, even though I know I can lose weight quite easily.. plus if they're illegal I won't bother.
My friend's weight loss plan currently consists of taking ephedrine, eating nothing but soup and jogging a lot.

I am trying to talk her out of this.

Hey - Ephedrine isn't illegal, don't worry. I've lost 4 kilos in that many weeks. I take an Ephedrine/Caffeine stack - she's just taking in two pills seperately what I take in one, basically.
I'd be reluctant to say my weight loss has been primarily due to these pills tho - there are no miracles, I eat healthy and cardio hard.
I've had no side effects whatsoever.

Now come on, mate, you're way out there. This is basic stuff.

Ephedra IS for all intents and purposes a herbal form of ephedrine. The plant is natural, yes, but contains ephedrine alkaloids and it's THOSE that are considered potent of it.

You will not be able to find Eph HCL anywhere on the market. Ephedra based products, on the other hand, are sold by pretty much all big supps companies, ie. Sida Cordifolia.

I would really implore you to do a bit of research before you start popping pills or speaking out about something.

Eph/Caf stack will at best raise your metabolism by around 3-4%.

Whatever weight loss you've had so far will have been a result of diet or cardio.

It's pretty much universally acknowledged the benefits of this stack is in appetite suppression and increased energy- countering two of the primary effects of hypocalorific diets.
hmm.. just found an almost full pill bottle of ephedrin under my bed. I moved into my flat a month ago and was just cleaning my room because i yesterday found a massive spider (http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1439666) in my room that im now trying to find and kill :s-smilie: hmm seems like my landlord had some drug habits?! or is there any other reason youd take ephedrine except for recreational purposes?

Why kill the spider? its a living thing thats just hiding away because it wants to get on with its existence. And please dont say 'because im scared/petrified of them' imagine how we must look to them o.O.

Edit: Just read ur thread, You are ridiculous.

It's legal to have, illegal to sell.

It depends on the source and the strength. High doses of ephedrine can only be obtained legally with a prescription as they're classed as prescription only medicine (POM). In context of this thread (ie; relating to the use, doses, etc) possession would almost certainly be illegal.

If you don't want to buy it off non UK websites you can get Sida Cordifolia which supposedly has it in it / alternative synthesis (I really haven't looked into it much I just know you can get it from retail shops as an alternative to it).

The problem is that when you're buying random plant extracts and herbs off of the internet you can never be sure what you're getting, now that relates to how much of the active ingredient you're getting (it could be nothing or it could be a toxic dose), what else has been added into the mixture, etc. Of course ignoring all of the negative side effects associated with ephedrine.

Ive been taking ephedrine off over a year on and off now and i think its a god send, it makes me eel more alive and is great in the morning with a cup off coffee, it does make you lose your appetite i you have it on an empty stomach so ideally first thing in the morning, i dont see it as a big deal to be honest, it helps with my daily student life and makes me eel good, ive never had any side effects and sometimes i forget ive even taken them. Im not recommending them to anyone as what you choose to do yourselves is up to you, i wouldn't push anyone into having them but i wouldn't lie and say i dint think they were a godsend!.. hope this helps, make sure you do the research first and then decide whether its a good thing for you and whether your taking them for the right reasons!
its simple if you want to get some. walk in to boots/any pharmacy and ask for chesteze. chesteze contains 18mg of eph (i think) per pill along with some caffeine and some other stuff. however some people say the other stuff can be a bit nasty so just try find the real thing if you can.

Yes because all drugs make you feel exactly the same.

Hmm, I typed this into the TSR search bar because I have recently obtained a 50 pill bag of 8mg per pill ephedrine. I have been told that they are a concentration aid and help wake you up in the mornings and also help with colds/coughs.

Can anyone tell me if this is true?

Surely once you cycle off the drug your metabolism increases then unless you manage it through calorific intake you'll just get where you were before?

I don't know a great deal about ephedrine but surely someone who is cycling ephedrine will have enough knowledge about nutrition etc to know how to adjust their diet accordingly.
As far as I know it's not safe or legal. Loads of guys in my american football team take them, but I've personally never tried it myself so I don't know if it works or not. I have had the "bitter orange"/synephrine equivelant which isn't illegal but apparently gives you the same effect and although i definitely felt a rush whilst on them, the come down effect wasn't great. I litterally couldn't sleep and felt like I was having a panic attack. I kept on falling asleep then waking up suddenly with and my heart was pounding. Not a good feeling.
