Just want so stress mate, they were generalisations (i.e. I'm not actually saying Hilda's is poor etc).

LMH isn't thaaat far away. It doesn't take any longer to walk from town that it does to Magdalen or somewhere. It's definitely not well known though, all the responses I've got when I've mentioned it have either been 'is it a girls college?' or 'hahahahaa'.

Its much further away than Magdalen - you probably use different areas of town if you're from LMH than the other colleges tbh

It is primarily banter though - a ten minute walk to town is only far by Oxford standards!

Well I suspect that is down to the type of people you are talking to about this :rolleyes:

I was considering Jesus when I applied and some of the comments I got were (banter I presume), 'spend the time til your UCAS application ******* sheep and you'll get into Jesus no problem!' (i.e. referring to the Welsh intake at Jesus) - once you actually arrive at Oxford, you soon figure out that most stereotypes are just myths.
