It's SIGNIFICANTLY economics based. A lot of people in the second year do exactly the same modules (bar one; accounting module split with business school) as the bsc economics students.

Check out the module list on the bham economics homepage website ; very important. Most people will be unaware how much economics and mathematics there will be in this course prior to enrolling and its a nasty shock; be prepared and happy about this or dont take the degree.

on the other hand, depending on how good your maths is and what you want to do in the future, you could also consider doing the BSc MES which will stand you in an extremely good position to do postgraduate courses or go into more technical (read: higher paid) jobs.

Thanks alot! I do want to did want to do a straight economics degree, as i reallly enjoy the subject currently, and hopefully do something acountancy/financey related afterwards, and the modules it offers seems to give me the best opportunity to see what i like and don't like. Thank you!

i don't think there'd be any harm in trying to swap once you get there, but the courses are so similar i wouldn't be too bothered about it if i were you, i only applied for both courses because my heart is set on going to bham haha
hahah yeh im from leicester so uni of birmingham seems the best place for me aswell! Plus got sum cuzins at aston uni too which is my second choice...

O and a big reason i need 2 be in Brum is cuz i got an Aston Villa season tiket for next season theyr dirt cheap rite now so that shud be awesomee hahah.

On top of all this is the MBF course which feels like it was made for me as it seems to cover all of the kind of areas i wana go into after uni !

Sweeeeeet...bring it on
