Use a fortifier/base coat. Take care of them every week, file them etc. Use plenty of hand cream and eat healthily.

Calcium?

If you have weak nails, it might be best just to keep them short, or try some nail strengtheners... you can get them in most chemists, they're kinda like nail varnish...

how do they chip?
if its cos of working in the kitchen its only normal cos the water makes them weak, happens to mine sometimes!
try and keep ur nails painted all the time with hardener base coat on underneath the colour you choose to apply
make sure u dont let them grow to the point where they are bound to break, cut them ever so often when they get too long to help them stay strong. its kind of the same as hair, u need to cut it to give it volume and strength etc

It could be anything from your diet to having a skin problem - for example psoriasis can make your nails pitted and peal... Or it could be a chemical you use - cleaner thru to cosmetics... Or it could be a fungal infection...

If you're that worried and your nails are that bad see your GP.
