Definitely not. Always wait until you think you know them, and then, always take a friend with you at least.

If you don't feel you know them, then no way! I've met loads of people from the internet, but my general rules are something like this:

1) Only meet them if you've talked enough to them so that you feel you know them well and like them
2) Only go if everything they say sounds plausible, and don't bother if there's any patchy information or possible lies
3) Make sure you've known of this person for at least a period of months
4) Make sure you've seen several pictures of them, taken at different times and places, or even better, make sure you see pictures AND have chatted to them on webcam if possible
5) Don't go if they've ever said anything sexual to or about you
6) Definitely don't go if the person isn't a peer (i.e. no more than maybe a year or so older)
7) If you do get to meet, then make sure at least two different people know where you are, what you're doing, and when you'll be home, and keep your mobile on you, make sure it's charged and you have credit, and that the people who you'll call will also be near their phones

As an extra precaution, I think it'd be a good idea to lie and say you ARE bringing someone with you. If they're meeting you for the wrong reasons, they'll be put off or try to dissuade you, which would be a good alarm bell

no!! if u know him relatively well (or as well as you can ever know someone online!!) and you have to meet him, it's best in a busy area with at least one of your friends, and with someone else knowing where you have gone!!
