Stop looking for a quick fix. Get off your arse and do some exercise, don't gorge on a particular food type, and all being well you'll be as fit as a fiddle.

give up already. get some f-ing exercise and eat healthy. you could even go as far as seeing a personal trainer to help you find the best workout or a nutritionist. but stop stressing. seriously, there is NO quick fix that will last...you'll probably gain back even more weight than u lose on one of these stupid diets. there's a good book that might help you. its called french women dont get fat. its pretty big in the US right now.
I do a low GI diet. but im not SUPER strict, i just buy wholewheat or pumpernickel bread instead of white. and dont really eat potatoes, and if i do i eat new potatotes. I switched from white rice to brown. I eat ALOOOT of veggies. It's just basically about making better choices.
Oh yea, and with those changes, and regular exercise, I stay around 50-52 kilos. I'm 5'. so yea. Oh and with exercise, do something u love. I always take the stairs, and whenever i can i dont take the bus or metro. I walk. or ride my bike. i love my bike. me and my bike are inseperable. haha.
i think ive complained about this before. but i hate being 5'2. At least with weight u can do something about it. height u cant.

Its a low Glycemic Index diet. The Glycemic Index measures how quickly certain foods raise ur blood sugar.

GI isn't a quick fix actually it is just changing your eating habits for life. I did the GI diet rather strictly for a while and lost weight and now I eat a mainly low and medium GI diet because it is healthy and I enjoy the food. It isn't gorging on one food type it has them all in it just certain types...Instead of white bread you eat pitta breads and granery and instead of potatoes you eat mainly sweet and new potatoes. Even small changes can make a difference and the book I have says you only need to eat low GI about 80% of the time.

I am sure you will agree with me that it isn't so much a diet to lose weight and then eat normally again (like the atkins or whatever) but a guide to eating better and losing weight. I like to think the word diet is used in the sense of what and how you eat not a plan to lose weight!!
yea I tried Atkins before trying a low GI diet. and i was DYING!! Atkins doesn't work for someone like me, plus, i noticed that on Atkins i could BaRELY get through my workouts. I didn't have enough energy. Yea, i love GI. It's just little changes that make a diff to how you feel. and def better for ur health.

Have the book sitting in front of me. Read it and think it's a good idea, seems all very sensible as it just stops you eating stuff your body can't handle or break down properly. Am trying to give it a whirl but white bread is a big weakness of mine.

atikans these types of diet are really hard,if you replaced stuff you eat with their diet similars you'd lose weight,on oprah winfrey show once a guy who is professional or whatever said that if you replace coffe daily intake with green tea you'd lose 6 pound or 3 pounds in 3 weeks, and that is by keeps your food and daily routine just the same, try and count stuff you eat daily, like weigh what you eat before eating,

If it's 'so big' in the US then why aren't people in the US getting so much smaller? Strangely enough, I'm relectant to put my trust in a diet book that's 'so big' in the US.

Your diet is vital to how much weight you lose, and if you have a decent amount of weight to lose 1.5stone+, then it is imperative that you also change you diet along with increasing exercise if you really want to get any results.

Also, considering the loing term, dieting often changes your eating habits, so when you start to reach weight goals you are less likely to gain the weight back on.

For those who have said any diet such as the 'GI' diet means you just gain it back on - thats actually a load of *******s. The reason people gain when they come off such diets is that they start stuffing their faces again instead of just eating sensibly and having occasional junk funds etc.
