I can't stop going red! Please help! :(

So basically whenever i'm with my friends at college / talking to a teacher sometimes when i know people are looking at me (like not staring, just generally taking a look at me), or when im talking and theyre looking at me, i blush. I dont mean like a cute 'aww' blush. I mean like super super tomato red.
I know some people will be thinking 'well its nothing major, just laugh it off' and ive tried that but its not easy when your friends are laughing and going 'OMG WHY ARE U SO RED?!?!' or 'do you want a mirror?!' 'OMG ITS GETTING REDDER!' (which in turn makesme go more red)

This never used to happen to me its just started recently but it's really getting me down and im starting to avoid hanging out with my friends or talking to people as much as im afraid this will happen again.

Does ANYONE have ANY advice or experience on this? I dont know what to do an it's really making me sad,
thanks.

Wear so much make-up you wont be able to tell.

yea i get this. it happens when i'm not even embarrassed but it makes people think i am embarrassed. it is really annoying
lash out at them one time their harassment is particularly bad, that'll teach em - make em think they pushed you to the edge, and you're no longer gonna take it. but that might put them off you a bit, so maybe see a doctor? might be a perfectly logical medical explanation for it?

I'm exactly the same. It can be someone just saying my name. Then like you're going red. Then it'll get worse and i'll be bright red and my neck will be. I have no idea how to stop it and i've had it for years, i know when it's sort of coming so tend to make my excuses and go outside or just hide in my jumper. It's so embarrassing but i've just sort of accepted that that's that really :/ .

It's just nervousness.

Try deep breaths?

I've had the same thing all my life, but I know everyone in my 6th form quite well, and they're all used to it.
but
what i find that helps is
cut down alot on the amount of sugar you consume
and if someone points it out, just say "you're really red too actually... Are you ok?"

Try thinking of something cold, like the North Pole's glaciers.
It really does work!

I have exactly the same problem. I just try and laugh it off/stay calm. And yeah, it can happen if somebody's just saying my name. Lord knows why!

If you think about it, it's hardly front page news that you've gone red, so just try and get over it, as everybody else will within around 10 seconds.
First of all when and why do you blush? If there is no specific reason then just realize that blushing for no reason is pointless. You can quickly fade away a blush by relaxing your muscles and thinking of something/someone else that makes you feel comfortable and secure.

Smiling or laughing are also very good ways to fade a blush as our cheeks naturally redden when we smile anyway.

Also, if you stop caring about blushing and stop worrying 'what if my cheeks go red' the thought of it should go away and therefore you should see no reason to blush.

*Blushing is far less noticeable than you think*

Otherwise, do it the old fashioned way. If your hair is long cover your face , if you're at a table put your head in your hands or adjust your face to the opposite direction. Even looking through a book or "checking for something in your bag" can hide the fact that you're blushing. The less you think about blushing the less likely it is to occur.

Don't try to stop blushing it will only make it worse.

Imagine jumping in an ice-cold lake or putting your face into a bucket of ice cubes. I know it sounds funny but it'll help you cool down and relax you a bit.

If you draw attention to your blushing even within your close circle of friends it will make you feel more comfortable around them and therefore not blush as much.

I've had this problem, it DOES go away in time.

Try to make yourself blush--it's impossible to force a blush and you actually stop blushing!

I've tried all of these things, forcing myself to blush, trying not to think about it, smiling, laughing, relaxing and i cant do the hair thing cos mines short.

NOTHING works
I'm on the verge of going to see the doctor cos its getting me down so badly. I came home from college and cried today because my friends just amde me feel awful. I feel like nobody understands.

this probably sounds pathetic to other people but for me its a big problem.
Smile, act more confident.
Put on make-up it helps big time. Or else clothes that you feel more comfortable in. If you feel more confident within your own appearence then you won't be embarrassed. It may be low self-esteem? If none of this sounds possible then I would go to the doctors. It may be something that is getting you down big time but can be fixed in 5mins. Whatever you do, don't carry on like this.
I have the same problem, it's rosacea. The only thing you can do about it is bathe regularly and remain calm.

It's beneficial, think of it as an incentive to remain suave at all times, failure to do so results in a tomato face . So essentially, concentrate on your character.

I am always red, but I look like a beetroot when I become even slightly nervous/embarrased. The solution? Don't get nervous.

This may sound a bit harsh, but I feel like you should make better friends if they make you feel that bad. Lots of people have the same problem, including myself, you just need supportive friends that make you feel comfortable. I hope that your situation gets better soon. xx

Just embrace it - it's all part of the banter. Don't take your mates too seriously.
Drink lots of water. Alot of times going red occurs because of dehydration. I get the same thing, but I'm starting to drink lots of water, but not too much, but its helps!
