So I just got an implant...
I was so nervous when I was lying there but it wasn't bad at all, the anaesthetic going in feels like a wasp sting but its only a few seconds and the rest is ok.
I haven't been able to resist having a look under the bandage and there isn't any bruising yet, but I can see the implant under my skin. Does anyone know if this is normal?

Yes it is normal, you can poke it up as well.

I had no bruising at all at first and now its all black and purple and goes right up my arm. I could live with it but I'm going on holiday with my family on Monday and I don't want them to know I've had it done. Also my period is quite late, which I'm really hoping is because of the new implant rather than anything else!
period? there is no such thing on implant , just random bleeding ever now again unexpectedly

Put a plaster over it and if anyone asks, say you have a scratch or something....
It's way bigger than a plaster can cover. I'll give concealer a try but I think I'll just have to keep my arms pinned to my sides for a few days.
I know you get random bleeds but I was due around the day I had it put in (I never manage to keep track of it but they worked it out for me last time I went to the fpc) and it just hasn't happened. Some cramps but no bleeding, and I'm starting to worry.

It won't 'happen' now, and the reason you are so bruised is because you looked under the bandage, they are pressure bandages to ruduce bruising and swelling
