Do unis have to reply by a certain date?

I applied to unis before the 15th January 2009 deadline, and have yet to receive all the decisions.

So, I was wondering whether unis have to reply before a certain date for those who applied before the deadline. I heard it was the 31st March.

Is this right?
That date is aspirational for universities. It isn't, strictly speaking, a deadline. Most repsond by then though.
8 May, when decisions automatically become rejections, is more significant.

I've been waiting for more than 5 months.
Have more patience.
It's not that long to wait til May so I would just be patient. I haven't heard back from one of mine yet
